Be on the Lookout…

  • 3rd quarter report cards and work samples went home Friday. Please review and return signed envelopes and emptied white folders.
  • Homework tonight will be centered around a story in your childs new Storyworks magazine. I had them write down a suggested pacing (1 activity per day) but the pages that go with the story can be completed at a pace that works for your family. The entire set is due back Monday.
  • This week our class will do a Taste Of North Carolina in conjunction with our economics unit in social studies. We will feature several NC entrepreneurs whose businesses grew to some of the largest in the country!
  • Mark your calendars! On April 24th, Oakview will host the Spring Fling which features the 3rd grade Food Truck Rodeo! If you have not already, please fill out this RSVP form ASAP
  • There is NO SCHOOL this Friday, April 18th due to a holiday weekend. word-3dayweekend
  • If your child “Read Across America” all the way to Hawaii in our March reading challenge you should have received an RSVP link. Please let me know if you have any questions.

This week in Math:

We are on our last remaining unit of our math curriculum with some more measurement concepts. Students will learn about US Customary measurement of length (in, ft, yd, mile), capacity (cup, pint, quart, gallon), and weight (oz, lb, ton). To assist parents in helping their kids I have included a guide. I know I had to refresh myself on some of these, so hopefully this makes things easier!
