Be on the lookout for…
- Tuesday folders will come home today. Please look through work samples and discuss with your child what areas of success or room for improvement you notice.
- There is a teacher workday Monday, May 2nd. No school for students that day.
- Due to the upcoming teacher appreciation week, several of you have asked if our class has any items we need. I updated our Amazon wishlist for things that have been depleted and some literature we’d love to have. Thank you!
- Please mark your calendars for our 3rd grade Food Truck Rodeo/Oakview spring chorus concert. More details will be coming forth, but THURS MAY 19th, students will be asked to stay afterschool as apart of our economics project presentations. Families will be invited to join their students in our classroom, and then enjoy the 4 food trucks that will be here. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, towels, etc to post up on the lawn and enjoy the DJ and concert!
- We will do more math and reading review over the next several weeks in order to revisit some past concepts and ensure we are ready for end of grade testing. You will notice reading passages coming home with “PARTY at the top. Please remind students to actually apply this reading strategy when reading for best performance! Acronym sheets are taped in their agendas from last week. I also am attaching a reminder here. word- party

This week in Math:
The last remaining unit of our math curriculum continues this week with some more measurement concepts. Students will learn about US Customary measurement of length (in, ft, yd, mile), capacity (cup, pint, quart, gallon), and weight (oz, lb, ton). To assist parents in helping their kids I have included a guide. I know I had to refresh myself on some of these, so hopefully this makes things easier!
