- I am a wear my heart on my sleeve kind of person, so I want to say something here that I won’t have the courage to say in front of all of you tomorrow: For 20 years I have loved being a 3rd grade teacher. I’m convinced it is the very best job a person can have, so long as they agree to let go of their sanity and lead with their heart. Saying goodbye to a class is never easy, but this one hits different y’all. Thank you for raising what is truly the best group of kids I’ve ever had. They are fun, fearless, diligent, and unapologetically themselves and they have made my final year in elementary school one that I will cherish always. Despite all the reasons to stay, I know next years class will never top this one. I’m also big on personal growth and modeling being a learner myself and creating opportunities to reach more students, and helping a new batch find a love of learning in middle school. Please don’t be a stranger! I encourage students to email me cvaughan@wcpss.net , visit me, and stay in touch. We have a fun final week planned with themed days. Dressing up is optional as always. FRI 6/5- Fort Day– bring a flat or fitted sheet and non-tech things to do in first
MON 6/8- Camping Day- wear comfy clothes, bring a flashlight
TUE 6/9- Game Day- wear your fave sports or team gear
WED- 6/10- Pool Day- sunglasses, hats, flip flops, beachy vibe (no bathing suits)
THURS- 6/11- Last Day/Emoji Day
