  • 4th quarter started this week! Report cards will come home this Friday, April 5th.
  • Spring Individual AND group pictures are tomorrow, April 3rd. Our class is signed up for pics at 1:00. Please make sure your child is looking good;) We will wait and do recess at the end of the day so no nice clothes are harmed.
  • Spring Break is coming soon! There will be no school for students April 15-22. We look forward to seeing you back here on Tuesday, April 23rd.
  • MARK YOUR CALENDARS with EOG dates for your 3rd grader. The READING EOG will be Wed May 29th. The MATH EOG will be Thurs May 30th. Any makeups will be conducted in the week following. It is vital that students are at school on time, well-rested, and well-fed on these days. Thank you for your attention to this.

This week in Literacy:

We have a winner from our March Madness book battle. If you are interested in getting a hilarious story that your child will beg you or any other friend or family member to read with them, grab a copy of The Book with No Pictures

Students will spend the week with Poetry and figurative language. They will read a lot, and write a bit, and enjoy the rhythm and flow that comes with this type of text.

Students are also turning their new country research into travel brochure, 3 paragraph essay, detailed beautiful picture page and eventually a part of a PUBLISHED book! More details on that to come. You are going to be amazed what your child can do!

This week in Math:

This is the FINAL week of timed multiplication quizzes.  Students who are happy with their progress on the mixed quizzes may stop unless they want to continue earning more toppings. PLEASE do what you can to help students learn these facts quickly.

Our celebratory Multiplication Master ice cream sundae party will be THIS Friday, April 5th at 1:o0. Students will submit their “ticket” to see how many scoops and toppings they have earned over the past few months. Thanks you to all who signed up to bring items. Please deliver them ASAP 🙂  Please see sign up genius link for ways you can make this party a huge success.

Students are telling time to the nearest minute and estimating elapsed time this week. Elasped time is a tricky concept to understand, so we teach our students to solve these problems using number lines. Please help reinforce this concept at home as you are able. A video lesson is located here🙂 word: elapsed time

Here is a parent guide for helping you and your student understand our main learning outcomes
