Be on the Lookout for…
- Tuesday Folders will NOT come home today. Please check your child’s agenda for homework.
- Students received a Scholastic Book order last week in Tuesday folders. Please take advantage of this great way to hook your kids on reading! We will place the order on Wed, March 14th so we can get books back in time for Spring Break! Please visit the site here and enter our class code GPPF6 when you are ready to order
- Students are bringing home a March Madness bracket today that we discussed and handed out in class. It will be up to students to use their addition skills and update their brackets every few days using the giant 3rd grade bracket in the hallway. Parents can assist with student choices while filling these out, but I will collect and make copies of these Wednesday so no further changes can be made. The top 3 point earners will have a pizza Lunch of Champions in the roost after Spring Break! word- basketball
This week in Literacy:
Students are finishing nonfiction with the fascinating and exciting text, Living Through a Natural Disaster. It features true stories of Cyclone Tracy, Huang He River flooding, and El Nino. Personal accounts, amazing photos, diagrams, and complex text make this been really “eye” opening 🙂 They are also turning their Immigration country research into travel brochure and Google Slide with organized and detailed facts. You are going to be amazed what your child can do!
This week in Math:
Multiplication quizzes will continue this week. Students have a mixed facts test Wednesday March 14th. Makeups for any missed facts will take place THIS Friday. PLEASE do what you can to help students learn these facts quickly. They are expected to answer 16 in a minute. Fluency is key!
Our celebratory Multiplication Master ice cream sundae party will be Wednesday, March 28th at 12:30. We are in need of 2 icecream scoopers and supplies. Students will submit their “ticket” to see how many scoops and toppings they have earned over the past few months. Please see sign up genius link for ways you can make this party a huge success.
