Be on the Lookout for…
- 2nd quarter interim reports for 3rd graders came home Friday, Dec 4th. Please sign and return them asap.
- Students will participate in some fun holiday activities Thursday, Dec 17th. Please view this link for items we need to make this fun event a great success. Thanks!
- Friday, Dec 18th is our last 2020 school day for students. We will do some academic drills and challenges early in the day, then I will be providing popcorn for students to snack on while watching Home Alone-a PG rated classic that the class voted on. If you haven’t yet, Please fill out this Google Form so I have your permission for your child to watch this film.
- As you have most likely heard, last night the Board approved remote instruction for all students January 4-15. I know this is not ideal and I’m very sad to have to move backwards in this way, but I feel confident that these kids can do anything especially knowing it will be temporary. I will have all in person students bring home several items they will need for remote learning. Please keep these materials in backpacks and make sure your child has those things with them wherever they do their virtual learning during that time. If your child is not in school this week, I will out materials in the front office for pickup or can drop off to you as needed. word-jinglebellscovidsmells
This week in Literacy:
Students finished their writing piece this week based on the book “The Best Part of Me“. This book is written by a local author and teacher! Students will focus on something special about their body that makes them strong, beautiful, or unique. Students will create a special final piece that will be frameworthy 🙂
This week in Math:
Students are wrapping up Unit 4 and will take a final test this week. Multiplication/division has been the major focus in 2nd quarter. Memorization of facts is an expectation come January when students begin their timed quizzes! There are tons of great resources for this skill- please check some out here in this amazing math review resource organized by skill.
This quarter in Social Studies: This quarter we will have fun exploring geography across the world and in our own region. We will study how people use their land and what causes people to change their locations.
