- Tuesday folders come home today and include student work samples. Please focus on how your child is connecting multiplication and division strategies. This has been a trouble area for many students. I am doing all I can here at school to address this, but you reworking problems and forcing your child to use a strategy (chat sheet with all of them is in agendas) will help immensely.
- Our extra credit reading incentive Readvolution, sponsored by the Carolina Hurricanes will be ending soon. Please do all you can to help your child reach their goal by Dec 6th.
- Report Cards came home recently. Please return signed report card envelopes ASAP.
- Student Ambassadors are holding a Food Drive for Community Members in Need from November 18-22. The box will be located outside student support office. They are collecting canned pasta and canned soup.

This week in Math:
Students are working with multiplication and division strategies for the next several weeks. Starting tomorrow, students will continue with specific fact practice with the goal of fact fluency. We are reviewing the strategies used in multiplication (Number line, repeated addition, skip counting, arrays, and equal groups drawings) and will also cover unknowns and the PROPERTIES for multiplication (commutative, distributive, and associative). We will continue to solve MULTI STEP addition, subtraction, multiplication and division through number lines, arrays, visual models, and more! Multiplication/division will be the MAJOR focus on 2nd quarter. Memorization of facts is an expectation come January! May as well start prepping now! There are tons of great resources for this skill- please check some out here in this amazing math review resource organized by skill.
