Be on the lookout…

    • White Folders come home last week. Please review the emptied contents and return the empty white folder.
    • Last week we took our final STAR math benchmark assessment. This week we begin final reading benchmarks. Scores will be shared with you in a few weeks.
    • Some very important information will come home this Friday. In place of Fri-Fri passages, I will send the results of our practice math and reading EOG’s for your student to review and make corrections on.
    • Are you ready to help your student ROCK this TEST season? Please review the message sent last week through Talking Points and the attached message from white folders. word- rock
    • Important Dates coming up- Mark your calendars!!
    • Reading EOG’s: Fri May 29th
    • Math EOG’s: Mon June 2nd
    • It is imperative your child is present, on time, and well fed/rested those days. Thank you for ensuring any appointments are outside of these slots.
    • Student celebration/parent party: Thursday June 4th from 2:15-3:00. Please limit 2 guests due to space! Siblings are not included in this student-centered event. More details to come. Thank you!      
    • There is NO SCHOOL on Memorial Day, Mon May 25th.

This week in Literacy:

In Module 4 we will explore the impact of water around the world! Find out standards, goals, and more by clicking this link to the parent information letter.

In connection with our EL curriculum, we are reading A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park. Be sure to ask your child about Nya and Salva’s journey! 

This week in Math:

We are on our last remaining unit of our math curriculum with some more measurement concepts. Students will learn about US Customary measurement of length (in, ft, yd, mile), capacity (cup, pint, quart, gallon), and weight (oz, lb, ton). To assist parents in helping their kids I have included a guide. I know I had to refresh myself on some of these, so hopefully this makes things easier!
