Be on the Lookout:

    • White Folders come home today. Please review materials with your child. 
    • This week is a spirit week across the upper grades to get kids ready for exams. Thursday this week is hat day and Friday is PJ day.
    • Lunch visitors and mystery readers are finished for the year. Thank you to all who shared their time, stories, and favorite books with us this year!
    • Per school instruction- ALL STUDENTS will leave school chromebooks AT SCHOOL starting this Friday so we can ensure they are here and charged for testing.
    • MARK YOUR CALENDAR for some important upcoming dates!
    • Reading EOG’s: Mon, June 2nd 
    • Math EOG’s: Wed, June 4th
    • Student celebration/parent party: Tues June 10th from 12:15-1:15 word-celebrate

This week in Literacy:

We are reviewing all concepts taught this year and working to build stamina on longer passages. Students are expected to use PARTY as a reading strategy to help them succeed.

Our new read aloud is Matilda by Roald Dahl. The kids are loving the brainiac girl with difficult parents. 

This week in Math:

We are reviewing all concepts taught this year and working to build stamina solving many problems at once. Students are expected to underline/circle key words and DRAW VISUAL MODELS to help them succeed! No rushing and solving solely in our heads!

Concepts to review: place value, addition with regrouping, subtraction with borrowing, rounding to the nearest 10 and 100, quadrilateral, parallelogram, trapezoid, rectangle, square, rhombus, arrays, repeated addition, area, perimeter, rectilinear area, commutative property (flip flop rule), number line, product, distributive (break apart method), associative property, graphs, pictographs, bar graphs, numerator, denominator, unit fraction, partition, number line, visual model, inch, foot, yard, mile, measure, length, width, capacity, gallon, quart, pint, cup, weight, mass, ounce, pound, ton.
