Be on the Lookout!

  • Important Dates coming up- Mark your calendars!!
  • Reading EOG’s: THIS Thurs, May 30th
  • Math EOG’s: Mon, June 3rd
  • Student celebration/parent party: Fri, June 7th from 12:15-1:15. A sign up sheet to help support all our fun activities is here.  Thanks in advance!
  • Students will be bringing home reading passages for the next several days to work on for homework. This practice is important for students to practice INDEPENDENTLY, although help can be given when checking answers.
  • Students should utilize the PARTY reading strategy to set them up for success. Each student is bringing home a bookmark with the details of this strategy on it to remind them (and inform you) of this practice.
  • Students will be taking EOG tests ON THEIR WCPSS CHROMEBOOKS, so please ensure they are fully charged and coming to school daily. If you would prefer for your child to leave their device here we can definitely do that. Just shoot me a message! word-chargedup
  • With the EOGs approaching, we want students to know how proud their teachers and parents are of all their hard work. We have been preparing diligently for the EOGs. We want students to walk into a special surprise on the morning of their first EOG. We are inviting parents to come to school on May 29th from 4:15-5:00 pm to sign large posters.
    Poster Locations
    • 3rd grade is in the blue hallway with the exception of Ms. Shaffer and Ms. Estep who will be in the orange hallway
    • 4th grade will be in the main hallway by the library and gym
    • 5th grade will be in the orange hallway
We would like you to write a motivational or inspirational quote or sentence on the poster for students to see on the morning of their EOGs.  We would like the message to be general and not directed towards your child. This is a surprise so please keep this a secret. If you have any questions please feel free to message your child’s homeroom teacher.

This week in Science:

We will be learning about Geographic Land and Water Features for the next few weeks. Ask your child what Ms. Vaughan’s favorite feature is.
