Be on the Lookout…

  • On Tuesday April 9th. We will be visiting the Museum of Natural Science and Museum of History in downtown Raleigh. The best  part (other than getting 2 museums in 1 trip, is that the cost is only $6!). Please send payments and permission forms in ASAP. If you would like to be a chaperone (we will need many), please send Mrs. Vaughan a message in Talking Points stating so.
  • There is NO SCHOOL Monday, January 15th for the Martin Luther King, Jr holiday.
  • There is NO SCHOOL for students Wednesday, January 24th for a Teacher Workday.

This week in Literacy:

This week we will finish Unit 3 of our Frogs Module. Today we are having a Frog Celebration! Students will bring home a Freaky Frog Book Collection of many amazing products we learned this quarter.

Our class started a read aloud this week of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing but Judy Blume. If your child has their own copy of this story or wants to get one, they are welcome to bring them in!

This week in Math:

Timed multiplication quizzes begin today! Your child will have an icecream sundae sheet in their agenda to keep track of their successes with these 1 minute timed quizzes. There are 16 questions on each quiz and students pass with a 15/16 or better. If they do NOT pass, there will be a makeup opportunity each Friday during arrival. All quizzes will come home the day they are taken and will be located inside the plastic X sundae page. Please do what you can to help prepare your child for these fun and important assessments! word-ribbit

Students are finishing the geometry unit today and will begin Area and Perimeter Thursday.
